COVID-19

These are difficult times, to say the least. We’ve faced unprecedented isolation and so many in our community are suffering. When this pandemic ends – and we know that it will end – we believe that the Madison Public Market can be a positive place that brings our community back together. The Public Market team is working hard to continue moving our project forward.

Opening in two years, the timing of our Market is ideal as our community and small businesses heal and rebuild. The Madison Public Market will:

  • Bring people of all backgrounds together in a safe and meaningful way.
  • Uplift small businesses, with a focus on multicultural entrepreneurs.
  • Encourage community support of small businesses and our local economy.
  • Increase food access for families with limited resources.

The world has changed and along with it, our Public Market project must evolve too. Our Public Market Team is expanding small business support through our food innovation center. We plan to utilize the 5,000 sq. ft. South Hall as flexible space to support even more food businesses, with a limited number private events and more space for food manufacturing, distribution, and collaboration.

We remain committed to our community and this Market. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us as, like everyone else, we navigate our way through these challenging times.

“Madison’s Public Market will be a vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurs and consumers. The lively sounds of music and conversations will resonate throughout the market. I look forward to seeing all the treasures of food and retail for all of Madison to experience.” - Mayra Medrano, Latino Chamber of Commerce
